To achieve the Lord Rayak character concept, DCUO would need to provide the following elements that Champions Online does not provide.
The one thing that Champions Online did not provide was the option of changing shape for flight. To make Lord Rayak, I would need the option to shapechange into a bird for flight. As it has been revealed that Beast Boy will be an NPC in DC Universe Online, it appears that this may be possible, however, it has not yet been confirmed.
Elements that Champions Online provides that I would be keeping in the design of Lord Rayak, that I assume DCUO will definetly contain:
Firey flight, the ability to be on fire while flying
The ability to place a phoenix or suitable bird shape such as an eagle, as an emblem on the chest of the costume
The following is the character idea behind the villain character Lord Rayak:
With his past lives Rayak, self proclaimed Lord, watched humanity. Yet over time he grew very displeased with how the species grew as a whole. This lead him in the past to take direct part in conflicts... in history one notes the mythological creature of the phoenix, which was in fact Rayak. In time Rayak saw that it was impossible to try to change the human race to be more peaceful. Now, Rayak instead would now rather watch as it speeds toward its own demise. Rayak no longer takes direct part in conflict with the human race, however he will strive to remove what he sees as interference from so-called "heroes" protecting it.
Lord Rayak is the essense of the Phoenix, reborn in a human-like guise. He has both superhuman strength and the power of super speed, and he can fly when transformed into his bird-like phoenix form. Additionally he has some degree of control over the primal elements of both Fire and Life.
